Copy cat media! That is what we have in the region. No independent thinking; no sense of identity. They copy whatever is written elsewhere (the insults; the mistakes)and reproduce them.
I just read a piece on sportsmax.tv about the Manny Pacquiao decisive victory over Ricky Hatton. The article is laced with insults to the Philippino people.
- the impoverished nation celebrated Pacquiao's emphatic win;
- a gun-ridden metropolis of 12 million (referring to Manila);
- Pacquiao's dirt-poor home city of General Santos, while in Manila's depressed Tondo area another 2,000 people packed an airless gym to watch the fight;
- ..Philippines, often a victim of natural disasters, political upheaval and corruption and whose already struggling economy....
Was all of this garbage necessary on an occasion like this?
